The psychiatric unit meets the needs of the patients of the hospital, as well as the needs of the accompanying caregivers and families in terms of psychiatric assessment and monitoring. Prescription and psychological support is available. Psychotherapeutic sessions, both individual and family, are also provided. As regards inpatients, the Liaison Psychiatric Counselling Service operates in consultation with the treating physicians. The aim of this service is also to inform and raise awareness of mental health issues among the staff. Finally, the clinic also addresses hospital staff, with the aim of reducing the psychological burden caused by work stress or other difficulties.
